Born in Bordeaux and based in the Canary Islands since 1987, Juan Salán is one of the archipelago's longest-standing and most influential music promoters. He founded Salán Producciones that same year, beginning with the legendary Pub La Calle (1988-2000) as his first major project: for twelve years, the only venue dedicated to live rock in the Canary Islands.
Highlights include Ramones at Los Tarahales (1993), Chuck Berry in Telde, Extremoduro, Los Rodríguez, Wilko Johnson... and now WOMEX Gran Canaria 2026. In 2023 he was named Adopted Son of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria unanimously by the city council. For 38 years he has backed live music with one philosophy: "The hard thing is to remain after the chaos."
